Faby est aussi la voix de l’orchestre de Claude Bolling depuis plus de 20 ans. Elle rend hommage aujourd’hui aux femmes puissantes, courageuses, subversives que sont les chanteuses avec un nouvel album Wild is the Flower . Entourée de musiciens reconnus, Léonardo Montana au Piano, Stéphane Guillaume au sax et aux arrangements, Zacharie Abraham à la Contrebasse et Pierre- Alain Tocanier à la batterie, Faby Médina partage sur scène à travers un répertoire choisi, une voix affirmée et généreuse. Ce qui lui tient à cœur c’est cette énergie créatrice, cet élan de vie des chanteuses de jazz.

The voice of singer songwriter Faby Médina was first heard at festivals on the French and international Jazz scene, while introducing her first album Following Love.
She’s also been the voice of Claude Bolling’s big band for over 20 years. Today she pays tribute to the powerful, courageous and subversive women that are female singers in her latest album Wild is the Flower.
Surrounded by renowned musicians such as Leonardo Montana on piano, Stéphane Guillaume on saxophone and arrangements, Zacharie Abraham on double bass and Pierre- Alain Tocanier on drums, Faby Médina shares a generous and well established voice on stage, with a refined repertoire. She has at heart the aim to transmit the creative energy and flow of life so specific to female jazz singers.

« Entre créations et reprises mon 2ème album « Wild is the Flower » met en lumière les femmes fortes qui comptent parmi les chanteuses que j’admire. Billie Holiday, Tina Turner ou encore Joni Mitchel. En faisant découvrir ces chanteuses à ma fille, j’ai pris conscience qu’il s’agissait de femmes ordinaires aux parcours extraordinaires. Elles m’accompagnent et m’inspirent au quotidien, par leur histoire personnelle et leur courage. Ces artistes nous donnent la force d’exister, d’avancer et de trouver notre place dans un monde empreint d’adversité. J’ai envie de dire à ma fille, à mes nièces, aux jeunes générations, que le champ des possibles est à leur portée, que des artistes talentueuses, des femmes, avant nous, ont osé sortir du cadre en donnant de la voix pour nous montrer LA voie. Maintenant c’est à nous d’inventer la suite.
J’ai voulu « Wild is the Flower » comme une invitation à l’échange, l’introspection, l’écoute, une invitation à laisser nos émotions s’exprimer pour se fabriquer des souvenirs, de jolis souvenirs. Le jazz a ceci de magique qu’il nous permet de dire des choses profondes avec une totale liberté et beaucoup l’élégance. Cette musique est à la fois la force et la sophistication. »

Between creations and covers, my 2nd album “Wild is the Flower” highlights the strong women who are among the singers I admire. Billie Holiday, Tina Turner, Joni Mitchel and many others. By introducing my daughter to these singers, I realized that they were ordinary women with extraordinary backgrounds. They accompany me and inspire me every day, with their personal story and their courage. These artists give us the strength to exist, to move forward and to find our place in a world full of adversity. I want to tell my daughter, my nieces, the younger generations, that the field of possibilities is within their reach, that talented artists, women, before us, dared to step out of the box by giving voice to show us the way. Now it’s up to us to invent what’s next.
I wanted “Wild is the Flower” as an invitation to exchange, introspection, listening, an invitation to let our emotions be expressed and create memories. Jazz has something magical about it: it allows us to say profound things with total freedom and great elegance. This music is strength and sophistication.

Biographie Faby Médina
Originaire de la caraïbe, née à Paris, Faby Médina commence la danse à l’âge de 5 ans. Elle goûte à plusieurs instruments comme le piano, le violon et la flûte puis finit par choisir le chant lyrique à l’âge de 14 ans. A 20 ans, elle entre de plain-pied dans le milieu professionnel en rejoignant la troupe de Jérôme Savary dans la pièce de Bertolt Brecht “La résistible ascension d’Arturo Ui”, au sein de laquelle elle exprime ses talents de chanteuse, danseuse et y découvre le théâtre. C’est le début des premières rencontres avec des musiciens de jazz, de gospel, de variétés, des comédiens et des metteurs en scène. Faby acquiert toute son expérience aux côtés des plus grands artistes français et internationaux tels que Guillaume Canet, Gérald De Palmas, Rod Stewart, Thiéfaine, Céline Dion, Michel Jonasz, Garou, I AM, NTM, Amel Bent, Louane, Yannick Noah et bien d’autres.
Faby Médina est aussi auteure-compositrice pour le cinéma et la télévision notamment avec le single “Femme” issu de la bande originale du film “Yamakasi”, une production de Luc Besson. On peut l’apercevoir de temps en temps dans les émissions de Nagui, comme Taratata ou N’oubliez pas les paroles.
Depuis plus de 20 ans Faby est la voix lead du Big Band de Claude Bolling compositeur entre autres de la célèbre « Suite for flute and jazz piano » et de la musique du film « Borsalino ».
Elle prend son envol écrit sa propre histoire avec son 1er album Following Love des compositions originales entre swing, be-bop et pop avec une pointe de soul dans la voix. Elle admire et veut rendre hommage aux femmes puissantes, courageuses et subversives que sont les chanteuses avec un 2ème album « Wild is the Flower » dont la sortie est prévue en Mars 2025.
Biographie Faby Médina
Originally from the Caribbean, born in Paris, Faby Médina began dance classes at the age of 5. She had a go at a few different instruments such as the piano, the violin and the recorder but opted for opera singing as she turned 14. Aged 20 she fully entered the professional scene by joining Jérôme Savary’s company in Bertolt Brecht’s play “La résistible ascension d’Arturo Ui”, and discovered a whole new world of theater where she could express her talents as a singer and a dancer. Then began first encounters with Jazz, Gospel, and pop musicians as well as actors and directors. Faby acquired most of her experience alongside some of the greatest French and international artists such as Guillaume Canet, Rod Stewart, Kelly Rowland, Céline Dion, Michel Jonasz, Garou, I AM, NTM, Amel Bent, Micky Green, Yannick Noah among many others. She is also a songwriter for movies and television shows, one of which is the original soundtrack and EP single : “Femme” in “Yamakasi”, a Luc Besson production. Once in a while you can also catch a glimpse of her in a French TV show produced and hosted by Nagui, « Taratata ». Faby has also been, for over 20 years now the lead vocalist for French Jazzman Claude Bolling's Big Band, the composer of the famous "Suite for flute and jazz piano", one among many other of his compositions. Her career takes off as she writes her own story for her first album Following Love, with original compositions between swing, be-bop and pop with a touch of soul in her voice. She admires and wants to pay tribute to the powerful, courageous and subversive women that are female singers with a 2nd album “Wild is the Flower” due to be released in March 2025.
